I found this picture on google, I knew when I saw it this would make an awesome blog topic.
(I even saved it as “blogpost” haha)
I think, in a sense, this picture ties back to our discussion in class about the idea of money buying happiness. We talked about many ways that money can and cannot buy happiness.
After our discussion, even though I do understand both sides of the argument I still believe it doesn’t matter how much money you have there will always be a want or need for more. I may be placing a stereotype but money makes people greedy.
I really liked this picture because it sort of reminds us that we need to stop being so narrow minded and focus on what’s really happening right now today and enjoy it, be thankful for it. Embrace the struggles of today.
I’ve been writing a lot of blogs lately that go back to the idea of embracing the moment, and again, I don’t know who I am trying to convince; you? or me?
I know how blessed I am, everyday I am thankful. And I try to show my appreciation and gratitude every time I get the opportunity.
I think if everyone showed their appreciation towards anyone and everyone our country would become a better place. Like the movie we watched in class about the survey of happiness in all different countries, it seemed like every country was genuinely more happy compared to the United States; and we are the most successful? And it also goes back to the quote “the best way to make yourself happy is to make others happy, the best way to make others happy is to be happy yourself”.. SO if we showed the people around us appreciation they would do the same, because IT’S NICE. It makes people giving appreciation feel happy and it makes the appreciated happy too.
Even though it’s cold out, even though you stayed up to late and you have to go to class, even though you have a million things to stress about, and a million more on your mind, be thankful because it could always be worse.
Be thankful for this cold and normal beautiful Wednesday!
